DL-021 The Goddess Lakshmi & Lakshmi Yoga- Burt
Who is Lakshmi? How and where does she manifest in our charts? This talk discusses her mythology and her attributes: born of the churning ocean, she is both Vishnu's luck and his loving, faithful wife. Her mythology goes beyond the ideal of kama (pleasure) and marital happiness. She is the prosperity of the inner, as well as the outer kingdom; her lotus symbol represents spiritual purity and dharmic righteousness. She is the fertility of our own creative nature, our "winged elephant" or feminine side. As shakti, her Mars side will be discussed in connection with a woman's festival at Puri which celebrates another myth: Lakshmi's locking Vishnu out in anger over his unfaithfulness. Discussion of Lakshmi yoga and wealth includes Moon conjunct Mars, when the Chandra is in higher longitude, planets occupying houses 2, 6, 8 and 12th from the Lagna, and for happy marriage, Malavya yoga.
