DL-279 Jyotish Science of Karma & Reincarnation – Beckman
Jyotish means the "science of light". Generally we take this to mean the transmission of light rays and frequencies from planets in our solar system, but the essence is a far deeper understanding. A Vedic horoscope shows the "prarabda karma", or that portion of our accumulated karmas built over many lifetimes, which is set into motion at the time of conception of the body. The science of understanding the soul's reincarnation in successive births is called "transmigration of the soul" in the Vedic scriptures. In this lecture Hamsavatar will delve into what types of actions create various types of karmas, some reaped in the present lifetime and the remainder stored to be manifest in a future life. As this is the entire basis of ˜why" or "how" a competent astrologer can read the destiny of an individual, it is of paramount importance for a jyotishi to imbibe these spiritual concepts. The next step is to learn what actions one must take to develop karmas leading to more advanced births, either on this earthly dimension of existence or a more elevated state of being.
