DL-443 Jaimini Astrology (Part 1) – Gomes
Questions often arise as to the identity of Jaimini Rishi - who was he, and how and when did he develop a sub-section of Jyotish. In the first part of this two lecture series, Robert will briefly discuss the origins of Jaimini and Jaimini astrology, yet more importantly, which aspects of this system implement and re-enforce the more well known Parasari Jyotish. The most important levels of this discussion will include an introduction to Karakas (significators), in three categories: Naiskargika, Chara, and Sthira; Argala, or intervention by planets and houses, and obstruction to Argalas; Rashi drishti, or sign aspects, and how and in which instances they can be used; and finally, Arudha padas of signs and planets. If time permits, several charts will be used to illustrate these principles.
